About Me

Artist Statement

I’m a conceptual, portrait, and documentary photographer with a passion for highlighting underrepresented and undervalued communities. My work aims to shine light on pressing social issues such as homelessness, drug addiction, toxic beauty standards, and etc. I strive to pull out deep emotions in viewers by allowing them to connect with the experiences and feelings of my subjects. My goal is to be a voice for those who can’t always share their own stories. I’ve been heavily inspired by photographers like Broomberg and Chanarin, Dorothea Lange, and Lewis Hine. Their dedication to immersing themselves in real environments and revealing hard truths has deeply influenced the way I approach my photography. Many of my projects are rooted in personal experiences—for example, witnessing a loved one struggle with drug addiction has driven me to communicate that pain through my work. I aim to minimize post-processing and instead focus on capturing powerful, and honest moments in the camera. While I occasionally use photo manipulation, I prioritize strong visual storytelling without relying heavily on editing. My creative process begins with in-depth research on the topic I’m exploring, followed by drawing inspiration from artists who have addressed similar themes. I fully commit to every concept, pushing myself to develop meaningful, thought-provoking visuals. When I first started photography, I was drawn to candid moments. Over time, I’ve evolved to appreciate the depth and voluntary of studio and conceptual work. Now, I find joy in creating images that form a deep connection with the viewer. Looking ahead, I hope to start my own photography business and continue growing both personally and professionally, always using my lens to tell stories that matter.
